Putting the Tweens to bed is like putting toddlers to bed! You put them down an tell them ok be good now go to sleep, they hop out and run around, chase them down put them back in bed - repeat a few times. Then you tuck them in and keep you hand on them cuddling them, they quiet down and start to sleep so you creep away - d4mn they can run fast!
Put them back in bed, block the exit from the nest box and wait, crouched down, knees screaming in agony, till they quiet down.
Creep away, d4mn you Rico, you cannot roost up there! Grab the screaming brat, turn off all the lights (of course it’s still light outside), cuddle the brat and put him back o to the nest box…. And he goes and tucks in beside his sisters.
Just hope the little monkey stays there - I don’t have my camera on the nest box and the hen house cams don’t see that part of the nest boxes. If he doesn’t he is on his own! I will have to fix the blind spots with this camera tomorrow… always something to do.
