The color base is similar to the Sebright and bantam game crosses. I'll get a few pics of them for comparison. She's about the size of the Sebrights so it's possible she is a Sebright cross.

It looks like a delightful place, but I confess my first thought was of mosquitoes!
This year the gnats are worse than the mosquitoes but both are bad.

Do they get any Swedish Flow Hens in your area? They come in assorted colors and some have head tufts, some don't - though I'm not sure theirs are as large as your girl.

She almost looks like part sebright, but it is probably the gorgeous golden base color (lighter than sebrights, yes?) and the speckling.
I haven't seen any Swedish flowers though she does look like one color phase of them. She is a bit lighter colored than my Sebright/game crosses and eventually we'll put her in that tribe.

They are all lovely, but I see who the camera hog is!! (or else, who human mum focuses on;) more :idunno )

The cutie pie in the last picture (little chipmunk) looks like it might have a bit of a poopy bottom - just an FYI so you can make sure it isn't pasty butt. Would hate for you to lose another one!

Well, it is a little bit of both right now. What can I do when she will actually stop and pose to a extent. Actually she stands still so her pictures do not end up as blurred images. Plus I told you all I had a favorite. Yes I have been keeping a eye on that speckled sussex. It is a tiny streak and no where near the vent and it has not accumulated any. If it gets worse I will clean her butt. At this point I am not wanting to add anymore undue stress on the chicks, especially the ones I purchased.

Jeff and I began replacing the walkway on our dock. It was (is) more work than we anticipated especially given that the heat was brutal the past weekend. I truly felt my age though when it came time to replace the planks. The new section looks good and is very sturdy but it wasn't the 2 day job I planned for.View attachment 3541536
With a new walkway like this, you may finally catch a fish 🎣!

According to Raven, I can get close. I can hold them at times but I cannot talk to them.
Hahahaha she told you!

Back to weedeating then more pics..
I ran to the house, sold eggs to someone coming at noon, scarfed back lunch, ran outside to mow the backyard, and down the rain came - in torrents.

So I went to the barn and worked on a door for the Summer House, along with some help from the Tweens, and the school chicks. I lost count of how many times I had to shush them away while I was using the round saw. Sheesh! They just want to get right in there hopping up on the wood, giving me their opinion on how it should look, measure twice cut once, make sure the board ends were flush.... they just wouldn't be quiet, so I fired them all.

I am sure they will take it up with the Local Chick Trade Union 234.

:gig

The heat is quite miserable now but the morning and evening are very relaxing. The new boards are repurposed 2x4s that Lety pulled from the dumpster at a nearby construction site. Pulled nails then cut to length and 2 coats of paint. Once I have replaced the entire walkway I will put a cut of the rubberized paint as a finishing touch. Good thing about Jeff is we are only a few months apart in age and we grew up in the same part of KY so we think alike. As far as I know we're not kin, lol.
Are you sure? In Newfoundland we are almost all related! When my sister brought home her boy friend, we grilled him extensively about his family just so that we could make sure that he wasn't related to her hahahaha!

We couldn't find anything in the first two generations, but who knows after that?!

Relative Tax
Look at this head tuft :)

EDIT - my BIL is from Newfoundland - I should have explained that :) We still haven't found any relatives in either of our families close.
