Are you sure? In Newfoundland we are almost all related! When my sister brought home her boy friend, we grilled him extensively about his family just so that we could make sure that he wasn't related to her hahahaha!

We couldn't find anything in the first two generations, but who knows after that?!

Look at this head tuft :)

Jeff isn't kin to any Ratliffs, Farmers, Damrons or Meadows so at best he might be a third cousin 😅

It is getting close to bedtime and the Pentagonists are all lined up on a smaller roost facing the big main roost.
I wonder if this is the night they will stay out there to sleep or if they will all go back into their brooder house (the little orange door that is open just below them and to the right).

Nope. They have all filed in through the little door and are figuring out how to fit in the long-suffering cardboard tray.
I think at the weekend I will start moving them back out. I know they see well enough in the dark that they could find their way back in if they get too scared.
Silly chickies!

I have a prophecy! It just came to me in a flash of light/seeing into the future:
If you close the door to their brooder - they will no longer go in there for the night!

Indeed - that would be a lot easier than hauling them out after dark!
Oh wise one, thank you - that will indeed be my next step.
I would really love them to come to this conclusion on their own but it is high time I decommissioned that cat food tray!

I will be interested to hear how it turns out ❤️

This is what I saw this morning with my school chicks I moved into the Hen House last night 😊

That’s Marty in the front, I think they were terrified to get down as she was there hahaha

Well now check this out, everyone is roosting but the rooster hahaha. Seems Mr P and the school chicks are having a midnight (evening) snack.

I have never seen Mr P out and about once the ladies have all gone to bed.

The simplest solutions are sometimes the hardest to see. Sometimes you just need someone else to look at your problem with fresh eyes. 😆
