Might want to try and catch her and put her in a more safe location for the chicks, if they get wet then that won’t be good.

Also it will be easier for you to monitor her and make sure she is ok.
Darn it, I knew I should have grabbed her when she went to get water.

I just don't have an area to put her, unless I put her where Pastel is and move him back in with the girls... I'm just not sure how safe it is in there...

I could move my two guineas out of a cage I KNOW that is safe, and put Willy -thats her nickname- and her eggs in there, but that means that the guineas would need to go in a small coop where Pastel is, and he would go back with his hens.
Unfortunately I really don't want to put the guineas back in that small coop.

I could let the guineas in a different pen with three younger(but laying age) guineas, but I've done that before and the two needed to be separated. And if that doesn't work and they do end up being seperated, they will just go in their old home, and Pastel will go with the hens.
Ack, I'm just trying to figure this out and my brain is being so slow. I really need to do some math... a few weeks out of school has broken my brain.
-I'm not so sure that doing my least favorite subject, math, would help though...
Grr what should I do about Willow and her eggs?
Excuse me, her 13 eggs, let ms correct myself. There were 16 and then I took 3 away. Oh goody good.
Mainly Splotch and BBQ, one Bolt, and MAYBE one Willow. It's an odd looking Willow egg if it is hers though.

Sorry about such a long and confusing post I just need to get my thoughts out.

Happy Fluffy Butt FriYaY!!

I'm king of all I survey.....until a hen puts me in my place! @Ponypoor : "I'm the Man"

Is Synchronized Fluffy Butting ever going to be recognized as an Olympic sport? It's hard work.

P.S. @RoyalChick Notice the green sheen? That is one of my Australorps. They have big, dark, seductive eyes, too. Sucks you right in!!! ❤️
Gads now I have The Man Song in my head 😁

Thanks! 👍

WAY TOO MANY!!

Ok so you need to
1 - get her to a more safe secure location
2 - candle all the eggs, leaving only the ones that are all the same size (you don’t want them hatching different days).
3 - only 6 or 7 she will not be able to cover them properly otherwise.

Here’s hoping for some chicks ❤️❤️❤️
What would happen if I let them hatch on different days?

Hmmm

Maybe you need to get a broody secure location before you go ahead with the hatch plan. There is nothing so important as a nice safe dry secure location where you can keep an eye on mama and the chicks.

Plus make sure that the chicks are safe from everyone else for the first week.

Any chance you can get a broody pen built?

She will leave the nest long before they all hatch- but as she is a small hen she won’t be able to keep them all warm enough to hatch likely.

Best plan is actually to start fresh. Set new eggs all on the same day- I stockpiled eggs for my friends incubator, they were all put together n the same day and all hatched the same day.

So let’s start with candling all those eggs, maybe if you can get an incubator you can hatch them yourself. This way you won’t worry about her not being able to hatch them; and you can be more sure of actually getting chicks 💕

Let Willy go through this broody session without hatching, and then get a nice new pen built for her for the next time.

Then next time, you can gather and stockpile 6 or 7 eggs that you want, set them all on the same day so they hatch on the same day ❤️

And get more chicks ❤️❤️❤️

Am I being an enabler 😁?
