Yes, in general this group of chicks are far friendlier with me than my first group. I have been pondering if it's because of the individual chicks' personalities or is it because I am more confident and able to discern how to interact with them better.

Does each group of chicks have their own culture?
I have found that those I have hand raised are way friendlier than my broody raised chicks ❤️

Also the hand raised chicks integrated faster.

Oh hey! Look my school chicks seem to be getting the message to roost on the Hen House 😊

Also glad those silkie chicks aren’t up on the shelf! Looks like Fluffy is back with Curly and their chickies.

Fairly warm afternoon here. Dakota was being chased around by BoPeep. I hate it when they pull stuff like that! So Dakota is inside with me, enjoying the air conditioning (and treats) saying “get off the phone already, I’m needing grapes!” :drool
Tis the way of the chicken I fear 😲

Rain storm blew in shortly after i got home. Everyone wanted into the coop where it was surprisingly warm. Babies got tucked into one of the upper nest boxes as they wanted to go exploring over there. Coop is closed. All inside. Rain stopped, sun back out, more clouds looming and temps going back up from around 40F to almost 50F. Looks like temps on a yoyo, but coop is cosy. Leaving babies where they're at tonight. Possibly going for warm mash for breakfast tomorrow, depends upon temps.

Thank you @Ponypoor for reminding everyone.
I will add that the reason there is a tax system is to try to keep this thread mainly focused on chickens, and stories about chickens, and not have it become a random chat thread.
There are many random chat threads that can be used for random chat.
Of course we are a community, and it is nice to hear about each other’s lives and be able to support each other in many ways, so it isn’t like we want an absolute rule to enforce only chicken talk.
But, we have already lost people who brought a lot of value to this community because they do not have the time to keep up with idle chatter.
All that just to say, keep a high bar for why something is worth sharing here, and if it isn’t chicken related include tax in the same post.

And here is my posting etiquette tax: Sylvie looking grown-up.
