I have a couple of girls that lay like that regularly.

Regarding the significantly lighter last egg - it is also noticeably bigger - the eggs will be lighter when bigger because, in theory, the same amount of 'paint' is used each time - so if the egg is bigger than normal, the paint gets 'stretched' further and the egg color is lighter.
Makes sense...also the stress. She usually lays by noon. Didn't lay yesterday until sometime after 9 p.m. and then after 3 today.

Weaned

Knew it had to happen, and it did the silkie chicks have been weaned pretty much. And today Curly was visited by Mr P - guess she will be laying soon.

Now I see that Curly is roosting with the grups again, the chicks remain in their nest box. Soon will need to return them to my friend 😢

Hey, it is what it is. No thank you for the rain offer though.
Have you ever listened to the sound of Canadian rain droplets?
“. Ouch, excuse me. Sorry for falling on you, my apologies, oops, I didn’t mean to fall on you, excuse me, I tried for hitting the ground, so sorry, did I hurt you? , sorry that I made you wet! ‘
The sound is deafening! :lau :gig
