You sound like me! I just gave my horse Vet 2 dozen eggs - the guy I got my hay from is going to get 3 dozen tomorrow - surprise!!

And my neighbour will get a couple dozen.

And still I have dozens here!

It really irritates me that I cannot give them to the food bank 🤨
That is irritating, the soup kitchen near me takes them but the food bank will not. Seemingly, no rhyme or reason just random policies.

The girls produce sooo many more eggs then we can use ourselves. 7-9 a day all spring and summer long. Late summer, I’ll start freezing some for the winter but for now the bounty of 9 hens of laying adds up fast!

She is now looking quite like my girls snicker and doodle but several shades lighter. Beautiful girl ❤️ I know you said before but what color eggs is she likely to lay? My two lay blue eggs with a but of a green hue.

My Roadrunners were more like your Snicker and Doodle, and Pooh is definitely lighter. Though she may get darker as she gets older.
Supposed to be blue eggs.

I am glad she looks a little different from the Roadrunners or I would get sad whenever I looked at her.

Here are my lovely Roadrunners. Rest in peace Minnie and Dotty. You were special ladies and I miss you.

They were gorgeous 💕 I remember them and that amazing photo of her in flight you got too! I hope my post didn’t make you sad, If I did I am so sorry 😞 Pooh is much lighter and quite beautiful.

Yes I too average about 7 eggs a day.

Well, this sucks! I was awoken by a huge house fire 🔥 next door. Smoke everywhere. So far, all the animals are safe , I’m inside the coop with my birds looking for embers that might light up nesting material. My hoses are running in the yard and I’m on standby. The fire trucks have just arrived. IMG_3337.jpeg IMG_3336.jpeg
