I’m trying very hard to wait for word from the vet and not descend into total despair about Butters. I don’t know that she has the time to wait on blood results. And I don’t know anything can be done anyway, except to get food into her and see. But the vet said tube feeding her, if her problem is kidneys or liver, might be counterproductive, so I have not. So I’m grieving that she is likely dying. She is weakening. But she still wants to get out and about. Her eyes are half-closed at times even as she explores. She acts so hungry and interested in finding things to eat and in her flock mates eating, but won’t join in actually eating anything. So strange. She might be eating some grass seeds. Anything bigger I’m pretty sure she beaks it and chews a little but throws it out or let’s it drop, and wipes her beak. Not sure if she will drink the electrolyte & probiotic water even. Sorry to vent this horrible stuff, but you all know how hard it is. Thanks in advance. 😢 :hit
I am so sorry. Sending trillions of hugs and prayers. I really hope she pulls through. You don't need to go through this with another hen.

It’s so hot 🥵
But I have my Coco. She’s the E in my El Pollo Loco! The K in my KFC. The C in my Chick-Fil-A
So close to my heart ♥️ . Bird, please get off my chest! It’s too hot for this!
Did your AC get fixed? Or do you have to wait till tomorrow?

I'm not sure if sugar water would be the same as food? I will check her crop again and see if she's drinking at all. I didn't feel it today but will check it tomorrow.
If the vet is worried about force feeding she may feel that if kidneys she doesn’t want foods that further harm them, but hydration in my experience is always required for any kidney issues, the added sugar is just fast calories to make her feel better.

I had a scary and eventful day! RC, so sorry about you're cat. CB, I really hope that Butters is okay.

First, my friends horse is doing much better. It look like he will recover.

Second, Willow is back to normal. She has gained weight and started getting color. And..... Todsy she laid an egg! First one since she went broody!

I went boating today. It was super fun. Started raining a little on the way to the island we were gonna hang out on.
Once we got to the island, we got "our" (our friends took my brother and I) electric bikes out and drove them on the sand. I was on the back of my friends bike while he was driving and we went into "sugar" sand and we both fell 🤣 we are okay, I just have a bit of sand burn on my knees.
On our way back, it was STORMING!! It was pouring, and thundering and lightning. At one point, lightning struck a few hundred yards away from us. The thunder was so loud. I was petrified. I am normally super outgoing.

Well, have a good night everyone.

Oh don't get the idea I know what I'm talking about! I barely do. The long legs make me think of game hens, which most chickens have in their heritage to one degree or another. The stance is upright neck and pretty flat back, whereas a cockerel would be more sloped I think, but this is just one picture. The neck and saddle feathers don't look that pointed to me either. But wait until the more experienced ones here weigh in!
Not sure why I automatically thought boy there, @notabitail how old is this bird?

Glad you’re ok- glad your chooks are doing better.

Next time keep an eye to the sky! And check your weather reports.

What colour egg does that chook of yours lay?

She hatched a couple days before. She also has never crowed as to my knowledge.
