Sorry you are going through this.
Let me give you a big hug. :hugs
And I will accept one in return as at the end of a truly crappy day I had to make the difficult decision to euthanize one of my beloved feline family members.
He had a good life - but at only ten years a really short one by cat standards.
I have been bawling my eyes out and now just need to go sleep.
:hugs :hugs :hugs
I am so sorry to hear this, RC. I know it is never easy - especially when they are relatively young, but knowing you, it was the correct decision for him. With true love comes loss, and, unfortunately, the more you love, the more it hurts.

It doesn't seem fair, does it - that you hurt more when you truly love your pets...sometimes I wish the cold callous people could hurt like we do - or their neglected animals do. But, alas, such is not the way. You are too loving (in a good way) which also means you truly hurt more, as well:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

I know it's a chicken, but is it another cockerel? And what breed is it?

I see a gorgeous Blue laced Red cockerel. Prominent and very deep pink comb and wattles, I see pointy feathers around the neck and at the base of his tail. This breeds males are known to be quite leggy as cockerels. Combine together I am feel fairly certain this stunning chicken will be crowing soon.

Interlopers!

Sitting here watching TV, when all of a sudden the chickens were creating an uproar!

I quickly checked the cameras to see what was going on, I went through the cameras couldn’t see anything in the alleyway; then the camera in the Hen House showed all the chicks 🐥 invading the domain of the grups. And relaxing and preening! All the grups crowded to the one end of the ledge. Screaming at the kids.

Well! The nerve of those kids! Mr P just hid his head away and tried to ignore them.

But then decided to see what was happening.

I guess the chicks decided that roosting in the Hen House, was more comfortable than cramming together on a stall door.
Then again maybe they decided it was too noisy in with the grups.

And left!

Indigo update:

Saw her again mid afternoon. Tried following her as she eeled through the tall stuff just below the coop. She's GOOD at slipping through. I kept losing her until grass rustled. Gave up again (had to start dinner). Guess where she was later?

View attachment 3579490Girl, make up your mind! Either commit to sitting or stop the buk-buk and grow the belly feathers back!
Awe, but MOM, I don't have a big enough cache of eggs yet. Cut me some slack, will ya?!?
