I am glad Theo is doing well, and in a more safe location - silly boys!

That is an odd thing with Piou-piou, I have never seen feather picking like that, I wonder if the irritation can be treated with some cortisone? maybe an injection of it to get it into her system fully.

I hear about the heat your way in the News daily; seems Mother Nature has gone off the rails this year. Heat, floods, tornadoes... all that is missing is Hurricanes' and Typhoons - haven't heard much on those - yet.
Well let's be grateful that there's no hurricanes or typhoons, that would just be really bad.
Weather has gone off the rails this year. 33*C in Calgary. But slightly cooler here, 27*C. Not much cooler though...

I really wanna say 'holy crap on a stick' but more rudely - to HER!

What a crass, rude, ignorant, intolerant, cruel person ?! You see, I am a mouthy brat I would have come right back at her and said 'Yep that's right, I am gonna sleep-in, in my own bed, get up with my PJs on, grab a cuppa tea and go sit and watch my horses and chickens - why would I pay thousands when I already have paradise'.

She needs to learn better social manners and also better communication skills. Sounds like she has neither in any appreciable quantity.

Well I am hoping that your new union personnel can do something to correct the issue.

Meanwhile - you enjoy your little slice of paradise and tell her she needs a life.
That's a whole lot more polite than what I would say 🤬

And document that too. It is none of her business what you use your vacation for.
Yep, I sure would have replied back in writing - ie: "Thank you for approving my vacation time I requested, much appreciated; yes you are correct I do not 'go anywhere anyways' but we are all entitled to our vacation time, and for that I am extremely appreciative of your approving it. Please have a really splendid day, and again thanks! Sincerely, blah blah blah"

Just to ensure that the comments she is making are documented - FYI - I would also BCC my personal email just in case....

Making it upbeat and polite while acknowledging the comments she made, and showing your appreciation for the approval. It's really a backhanded slap you are giving her by being the better person replying in a positive and upbeat way. With a bit of a 'hidden contempt' for her statement she made :)

Yep but its a backhanded slap to her; many times its a play on words which only the person who is involved would understand. And not a darn thing she could do because it's polite and in no way threatening. It's just an acknowledgement of her rude comments thrown back at her in a more than polite manner.

Hey how is your hen - I was afraid to ask but sure hope she is ok. The heat there must be just cooking.

Do, please, mention her discoloured comb to the vet, and maybe bring the couple of pics you posted of her - I think it is very concerning that her comb is so deeply purple. Was she overheated...and just brought into the house to cool off? ?Maybe she isn't drinking enough with her impacted crop and the heat? I'm not a vet nor doctor - but it is worriesome to me.

Maybe @BY Bob or @RoyalChick (? or @Ponypoor ) has some more constructive and informed thoughts regarding this.
Well, my niece's hens are here of course, and Tuff we all know about - she is still hanging in there. Red's (RH) comb is sometimes purple, and seems floppy at times, but she is eating and running around upright (as opposed to upside down hahaha) so what can I do? Larry has a bald butt, Raven had a poopy butt which is looking splendid now, and Sharpie the other red-sexlink seems ok, though sometimes her comb also gets rather dusky.

I am now to the point were I just try not to worry about it; the fox worries me more.

Sometimes you just have to look at what is the more serious health issue and deal with that. Esp with elderly 'patients'.

You know the real problem with having a toxic manager is that replying back to them in writing and documenting all the problems is taking away from bgmathteach's work time. And likely spreading into her free time. Bad managers not only make life miserable for workers but they end up having non-productive workers because the toxic manager is causing them to take sick leave or spend too much time at work documenting bad behaviour or hiding away from the bully.

Sharpie has an awesome set of spurs I just noticed

24C (75F) but feels like 29C (84F) with the humidex. Sprinkling rain again sheesh! so annoying this rain.

The chickens are all down by the far end of the run, under the Jack Pine planting themselves in the dirt, where its cool, oh they just started coming back in must be raining a bit more now. The Swallows just all came back inside too, must be raining. OK well I better get more work done here, and give the horses their noon time hay.
