I could wait until tomorrow to post these but I am not. I call Happy a little dancing chicken anyway. I had to feed her the other morning. I spent almost 2 hours with her, she did very little eating but a whole lot of dancing. I did not have the camera yet when I played Lady Gaga to her for the first time. Let me tell you, she went nuts over "Bad Romance". Sigh, babies, horses, chickens and Happy are guaranteed to make me act like a idiot at times.
Amazing. She really dances!
I think we all needed something to smile at. 🥰

Yay! Happy bees.
I wonder whether they are wild or belong to someone with a hive who sells honey.
I always worry about someone selling honey because they spend a lot of time here - currently on the mint and later on the garlic chives. They love both, and neither seems like a good flavor for money!

Happy has learned to say "I love You". Bad Romance had her saying "I love You" while she was dancing. My brother wanted to knock me in the head when I told him what I played for her. He HATES Lady Gaga....hates her. I corrupted his bird with her music. What is fair is fair. For years I have complained he has corrupted Rosie into liking some of his "crap" as I call it. All I have left to do is teach her to crow now.

@ChicoryBlue : I'm so sorry you lost her, but I agree with everyone that there wasn't anything you could do - other than keeping it safe, warm, fed, & comfortable as you did. :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs :hugs How is your burn doing? I imagine a burn that bad will take a while to heal, but I'm hoping you've been able to keep the wound clean and prepped enough so that as the skin grows back, it isn't hurtful to play/tight on the hand.

@RebeccaBoyd : I can not imagine enduring the heartache you have this year. I don't know what to say - so many losses in so many different forms. I guess the only thing positive I can say is - at least you have Owly and Branche. It seems Owly is quite perceptive for such a young chick - but then, sometimes I think our pets know us better than our families (or at least read us better) :hugs :hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs:hugs

@knoturavggrl : It sounds like you have a great treatment option, I will be keeping you in my thoughts.🙏❤️🙏❤️🙏❤️

Sorry I've been mostly a 'fly-by' this week. Came down with nasty case of covid and could barely function the first 2 days. Not out of the woods, but definitely doing much better today. This is the first day I was able to eat anything - about 2 tablespoons oatmeal, and later in the day about 1/4 of a banana definitely an improvement!
I am so sorry you are sick. Hopefully you are much improved today and your boss will let you rest...

The nectar doesn't taste as "minty" or "garlicy" as you would think. Usually honey is a mix of all kinds of nectar.

I have goldenrod about to bloom, and I'm told that the honey from goldenrod will have a particular odor and taste. The description is anywhere from "dirty socks" (?!) to licorice (yum!).

This is my first year, my first hive, so we'll see.
