I'm sorry that I've not been here for the past week. I've been trying to treat two sick guinea hens.

Today I figured out that it was Coccidiosis, and rushed to TSC. When I got back, one was dead. I was crying my heart out. I let poor Eclipse down. I treated all my birds with Corrid, and gave Frost, the other sick one, some Corrid. About 30 minutes ago, I picked her up because her head was lolled back. She was alive, barely. I sat down on a chair and started talking to her.

She started having death spasms in my arms and died.

It's been an awful day. I can't believe that I lost two of my beloved girls.

So sorry to everyone who lost chooks this past week.
@RebeccaBoyd is the only one I know for sure who lost chooks. I am so sad that Chiqlita (sorry about the spelling ) passed.

Oh, and @ChicoryBlue. So happy that you got chicks. So sad that two passes

That's so sad I'm sorry.

My friend has lost 3 guineas this past year. I so wish I knew how to treat them so I could have helped her.

At least they were with you and knew that you cared for them

I feel your lose, one of my oldest coturnix quail Becky, sadly past a month or two ago and. She was a good hen. I'm so sorry for your lose

Hi Friends Im still alive been dealing with a lot of health issues. Cant walk or stand very well because of back issues but slowly getting them takin care of. Hubby is helping a lot the chickens are good clyde is better and they are much happier in their own little coop outside. I have 3 silkie roosters so 2 have found a new hme to some friends where they will blend with other female silkies and flock and free range.

Hi Friends Im still alive been dealing with a lot of health issues. Cant walk or stand very well because of back issues but slowly getting them takin care of. Hubby is helping a lot the chickens are good clyde is better and they are much happier in their own little coop outside. I have 3 silkie roosters so 2 have found a new hme to some friends where they will blend with other female silkies and flock and free range.

I'm sad to see you are having back problems. The pain really is disabilitating. Try to keep going my friend I understand how hard it is. But I know you're a determined lady.

I did get your message ty for checking on me. I am seeing the ortho about mt back for injections and ablations but I saw a spine specialist who is doing a MRI on spine and neck. I have osteoarthritus, spondolosis, osteopynia, scoliosis and stenosis and bulging discs and degenerative disc disease in both the stenosis in my neck and spine and making it hard to walk. The neuro tested my nerves and muscles and the muscle is not functioning like it should because of my back.
Also seeing cardio next month and have seen all the other drs. lol Im sick of medicines and drs.
Meanwhile Clyde got bad but after weeks of meds and special love and going outside he is much better. But he will always be in my care because of special needs.

So sorry about your back problems and health issues.
I'm glad that Clyde is better, and that two of your silkie boys have s new good home.
I certainly hope that you can be on here more. If you can't, I understand.

I have exactly the same as you!

There was a huge investigation for many years I even had the blue dye injected into my spine for the MRI, I was on a mountain of pain medication which caused me to have too have good part of my stomach removed. A friend I had at the time... ( who has since died of pancreatic cancer )
Her daughter was actually in theatre at the time of my operation, she said she couldn't believe how much was removed.

I then had too deal with irritable bowle disease, which still flares up on occasions if I'm not careful.

Due to all of the above I lost my faith, especially in the medication. I found it only worsened my body by increasing my pain in addition causing even more problems

I have to live with PAIN because pain killer's wear off after a while.
Luckily I had a good honest G.P at that time that explained a lot of this too me.

From there on in, when my trusted G.P was no longer around, I went on my own discovery, I cut out the pain killers and stomach meds, then found a more natural way, for instance, without the sweeteners and colourings for my stomach. I take husks on occasions

For the first time since all that I've started taking glucosamine msm & chondroitin. My dog is now taking this to. It's taking the edge off along with the turmeric.

I'll never walk straight I never have and I'll always have pain. But i prefer to go my own way and cope the best I can while searching for various exercises.

The amount of pain medication I had through that was well over the limit, thankfully I didn't become an addict.
