They do look similar don't they. Now, do not go saying Owly is a boy, I will not hear of it.
Owly is a darling pullet. (And as likely to get into mischief as Havoc is)

It's difficult to believe she was such a towhead

She will move them on her own. Once she's confident of her ability to say BACK OFF, she will start moving them off the ground. Storm is still on the ground with the babes at 2 weeks. Jessica (last year) had hers up on the roost at the same age. Every mother is different and does the chick raising at her own pace. Storm was orphaned at 3 weeks, so I'm looking at next week and wondering if she's going to be done all sudden like or hang on to the babies until they're as big as she is.

Baby proofing the run, lots of escape spots and lots of food and water places are wise now. Otherwise, let them raise the babies and enjoy the "tv" show.

All my chickens are so weird about roosting. They do it, but I'm not sure when. Every night, they start in a "puppy pile" in a corner. They were in the corner beside the feeders but, since that's now wire, they go into the one behind the roosts - Manny on the bottom, the girls on top. You'd think Mr. Manny would be on top protecting the hens, but no.

They've done this since the day I got them - about 6 weeks old. At some point they do move onto the roosts because they're there in the morning, but every night - puppy pile.

It'll be interesting to see where the triplets and Eenie fit in.

Jaffar stays on the lowest perch (designed for him.) He’s between the ladies and whatever might try to get at the hens. He prefers it that way.

I find it so weird Manny is on the bottom, but almost always is. I keep planning on taking a picture. I never remember my phone at night. Here's one from a while back. They hadn't quite settled in, but were starting their snuggle.

Manny is one heck of a rooster!

Hello FBA ! I've been following along this week, but lacking time to post. @GregnLety , @Pastel The Rooster, @ChicoryBlue , I wanted to say i’m sorry for your losses. Whatever your age, the size of your flock, who you are and what you believe in, caring for our animals is something we all relate to ! I feel sad each time I read one of you has lost an animal companion. Wish I could send all of you a bit of healing and joy-like @bgmathteach I know the best way to find that is caring and enjoying for the ones that still share your lives.

@Pastel The Rooster I think I know how you feel, I was there last summer. For me it helped going away on a several days mountain trail in a completely different environment. And doing memorials - I still treasure and use daily the tea cups I had printed with my chickens pictures.

I’m confident you can do a memorial for your guineas. @BY Bob is such a kind and helpful person that he will probably be happy it helps you to share 💚.
