The Azurs: I have noted that Turvy seems to be picking at Twister’s beak and her tail feathers, which look ratty.

I wonder if it’s the dark spots on her beak, and I also wonder if once they get bout and about they will be on busy for Turvy to pick at feathers…. Sure don’t want a feather picker here 😳

Yes they are settled in, I kept my nieces hens with them last night and this morning they were right at the door with the hens impatiently waiting for their morning mash! And when I went in they followed me and tucked right into their morning mash.

Guess I am not too scary ha!

But I am terrified to let them loose in the barn, what if they get loose outside? What if they won’t come back in? What if something happens and I need to handle them?

Also I have noted that unlike my wild things who fly jump and run everywhere these wee ladies don’t seem to know what running jumping and playing is all about. That makes me very sad - and ask myself where they just kept in a factory floor ? Well yes I tell myself of course - these factories would have thousands of birds - and they can’t spoil them with roosts, hay bales, boxes, walls to fly up on….

Maybe they need to be out with the wild things learning these things. What does everyone think? I may just set them free tomorrow in the barn seeing as how Fluffy has pretty much ruined any quarantine. I am terrified at the thought of them running free in the barn. And then there is that opening at the top of the back door for the swallows to fly through, what if they fly up there and get free outside?

What if they get into the loft? Gawd, Rebecca has given me a fear of the loft now 😁
Is that the new Steven King movie plot,
“The Loft “ ? :gig

My rooster is making me crazy! He’s been tipping over the feed bowl and making a mess of the chicken feed. Once it’s on the ground scattered around, the chooks are hesitant to eat it. I’ll fix him!
I need some cement and a framework to set the feed bowls in. He won’t be able to knock that over!

Then my suggestion is to give this poor person not another thought. A person cannot be made to like, or be happy anymore than one can hold up the moon.

Enjoy yourself and your chooks - you have earned, and thus deserve, it.

I have a question for Ruth the little Pecker.
Q: I really love my hen Coco, she’s such a nut, but lately, she’s been acting distant from me. Did I do anything wrong with her or is she just going through something?

If they're sticking with a group of the other ladies, they will do so outside too. See what they do in the barn and make the decision based upon that. The running, jumping, flying will happen. Give them time.

She isn't 'Dr. Ruth' the Pecker. She is just 'Ruth, the Pecker!"

It’s Pony Sunday.

I so rarely have any thing to contribute that isn’t a cat or a chicken but today I have a few things to wish everyone a happy Sunday.

I had a daytime visitor (thank goodness someone eats the dandelion leaves!).

And several nighttime visitors (what is with that jumping movement coming towards the camera?).

And finally something to make everyone smile. Warning just let the site scroll through the pictures for you - I couldn’t figure out how to see them at my own pace.

Happy Sunday everyone.
Your visitor REALLY enjoyed the dandelion! Yum!
