Must smell wonderful there :sick

I was in Edmonton a few year ago waiting to catch a plane, and I was chatting with someone and we were laughing about the skunk that a plane must have run over on the runway. Another person chimed in saying 'oh that's the smell from the cannabis greenhouses next to the airport, the wind blows the smell over here - it was on the News'.

What?! I had to look it up and sure enough people were complaining about the skunky odour from the pot plant greenhouses hahaha - too funny - but totally disgusting - what a stink! Ya stink in more ways than one!

Thanks for the skunk article. It only goes to show, that washing a skunk 🦨 doesn’t work. It’s still a skunk!
And near an airport! Is nothing sacred? :barnie 👮‍♀️

Sure hope you can get to your airshow and have some fun! Just take a deep breath and let it out slowly and enjoy your chickens - they are your friends who ask nothing more than some mealworms (or steak ha!). 💕
Actually, I get relaxation from teasing you with my jokes, waiting for your response!
Your returns are fabulous!

Yep I am truly addicted to having to see what's going on in the barn :gig
Last night I was so surprised to see little Goneril march into the hens' coop and settle herself on the roost next to Isabella! No more baby coop for her!

Attempted to get some fluffy butt pictures, but it's really had to get these darn chickens to turn their backs! View attachment 3612705View attachment 3612706

The chicks would love to go into the run, but their mom refuses to let them out to play. 😡 She goes out fine, but let their feet touch earth and she's rushing them back indoors. Still won't let them get close to me either, regardless of the admit of meal worms I have. Darn helicopter mom. :barnie
Storm will let me admire hers....from a distance....but if I get too close or pay too close attention to the babies, she's calling then off into the brush and or attacking my shoes. The day she cam off the nest, she was attacking for looking at them, never mind that I was trying to help the babies follow her. Taming will have to wait until she abandons them. So far she isn't showing any signs that she's thinking about it. This morning she had them up by the garage door. They were pecking about while she peered in the door at me and the feed bin. Yesterday, she had them down almost to the neighbor's corral. She's keeping them close while showing them all the best forage and shelter places.

Blue Friday 😊

Have two blue eggs from the Azurs today - very eggciting! They are laying them in the small crate in the Summer House.

It is such a miserable windy drizzly awful day, nothing like August, more like March. And the provincial medi-vac chopper (ORNGE) just flew over the place skimming the barn, scared the heck out of the horses and chickens. I am surprised it can fly in this wind, and wonder if that is why they were so low… Alex may know that answer. They also fly low if they have a patient with a respiratory problem, as altitude can affect their cardiovascular system.

Some fluffy butts…

From the looks of it, Isabella seems surprised too - she looks like she is giving Goneril the hairy eyeball.

Isabella: And just what do you think you are doing here, you young whipper-snapper upstart????

Goneril: Just minding my own business, you old, cranky bat!

Goneril: P.S. I love you, Isabella 🥰 🥰 🥰

Training day number two here. I have been working with Dakota for a while now. Here’s what I found:
1. I can raid the refrigerator and get steak at her beckoning call.
2. If she squawks, she wants in the house
3. Feet are to perch on, (when not in use) :smack
4. Never touch her without her expressed consent.
5.I learned to lay down and let her perch on my legs ( on demand )
I’m glad she doesn’t demand that I put on a movie 🎥🍿 like Jaffar does! :he
