I just love watching them merge into one flock (well sort of).Yes, that's what I told Goneril. Don't grow up too fast little one!
I have to say that it has been fascinating watching these chicks grow up and integrate with the flock. I took lots of time off from work, so that I could be present and it has been so great!

My Pentagonists are definitely their own tribe and Bernie is grumpy with all of them so they avoid her. But Babs is happy to hang out with them and it seems mutual.
What I notice though is in the evening they all come out for their last forage of the day and are together. I think Bernie is more mellow when her crop is stuffed to bursting point, and as a matter of practicality probably can’t run that fast when she is so full. It seems the Pentagonists know this and therefore forage with her rather than keeping their distance. It is my favorite time of day to visit with them. They are so peaceful and busy grabbing bugs and seeds.
