Tina seems okay but I'm not happy with her wings so low, could it be the heat or is it heart problems. She's breathing okay so I can't work it out.

A few of mine have been doing that. I assume it's due to this insane heat, though. Not sure where you are but we are 5 days over 100 degrees with heat indexes above that. I hope your girl is otherwise ok.

Hello Taylor. Thanks for your reply.

I'm in the UK the heat isn't as bad here but bad enough today. Tina has been poorly for some time and she was a battery hen. But I'm doing my utmost to help her.

This morning Red is still with us; I checked her abdomen and didn’t see any maggots. Is that a good thing? I don’t know, but I am going with it that’s it’s a good thing.

I will need to give her a bit of a soak to get some shavings removed that have adhered to her overnight.

She ate a handful of mealworms and some scratch grains I placed on top of some mash.

I also gave her more Tylenol and 1/2 a low dose aspirin.

When I head back out I will give her more antibiotics.

Meanwhile I just checked her on the camera and she is up on a chunk of 4x4 I have in the crate.

I'm glad to hear the maggots seem to have exited stage left - and she's eating. Keeping my hopes up for you, Red!

Aww. She's been through so much. I know she appreciates her open spaces. I hope she recovers soon - and I hope someone with more knowledge that I have can help you out. Hugs for Tina.

Thirstday, it’s pouring today so this is a picture from several weeks ago. I take way way to many pictures of chickens 😂

Molting question my OG’s are a little over a yr now. When should I expect to see molting this year or not till next?

The “babies” are of course doing smaller less dramatic juvenile molts but no sign of any molting yet from the bigs so it made me wonder when it would be likely to occur.

Inquiring minds tax:

Mine are almost a year and started molting. Agathae the fashionable Cream Legbar looks like she got into a fight unworthy of her dignity and so do some of the others. I'll have to send some photos.

How are you feeling today? Hope this time around it was a bit less miserable for you.
It was way way better this time. No fever, just some particularly achy joints but thats not abnormal for me so Idk if that was because of the vaccine for sure or not. Thank you for checking on me!! ❤️

Just waiting on surgery day now :)
Oh that’s a nice colour - pinkish it looks like.

I am determined to get a couple dark Brahma next year. Maybe. Darn this chicken math!
You and me both! Dark Brahmas are on my list too! They are so beautiful 😍 There are precious few decent breeders here for that color variety though. Buff and Light are apparently more popular 🤷‍♀️. Is this true in Canada as well?
