What are these guys' setup? Do you have a heat lamp? Cornish X chicks are very hard to raise, also are as dumb as a sack of hammers. During the first month, they can eat chick starter and it doesn't have to be withheld. I had some losses, started out with 51 chicks and ended up with 44 chickens. But after a month you have to give 12 hours food, then take the food out for the next 12 hours.
I have a heat lamp. Two of them actually. I also had some losses, started with 50 now I have 48. Since mine are young and they don't eat much I just give them food all the time.

Hi, Bob. I was busy helping a friend all of Saturday and most of Sunday. Today the chickens are out, as was I, but I forgot to take a video. Here are stills of each of them that I took just a couple days ago. They were inside the run. I was trying to show all the featherh madness to my sister.

Notice some of them without tails and look at poor Roxy’s neck. Everyone except Buttercup and Minnie Minnie are in some stage of molt.

Unusual friends: Lark and Primula

Come on girls, drop the feathers and grow the new!

Littles are 6 weeks, and still kept close to mama.
