No, No, No!!

You need to keep Mr. P and at least 1 more. Poor Mr. P can't handle that many ladies on his own. He will be run ragged just like us worn out Hoomans (but because we have too many broodies/babies)
At what flock size/keeping conditions do you think it's better to have two males?

I secretly would love to let one of my crazy broodies hatch a small number of eggs next summer if Cesario is still doing well.

I have four hens who go broody. I am presently fighting with Clara over this. I read her Queen Aurora's decree and her only response was, "Owww!"

I am not sure what that means, but three hours later, she was back on the nest!! Imagine, defying The Queen!!!

I want to thank everyone who shared some silkie photos yesterday, even the feather duster silkies. I kept it quiet but yesterday was my birthday, 39. I am done counting, from now on it is 39 and holding. Everyone is finally on the mend and recovering from the horrible combo of Rhinovirus and Covid and for the first time in 4 years I myself was not sick. My sister came over and we spent a few hours playing rook, phase 10 and Yahtzee. Sibling rivalry is as strong as ever when it comes to games. She won some and I won a few games. All in all it was a good day and those silkie hen pictures was the icing on the cake so thank you.

Lovely girls and thank you for posting them.
I gave all the chickens treats include watermelon with the hot weather today! Peep and Cheep loved it!

Darcy rated it a 0/10, he hates watermelon. He only wants to be cuddled.

They hated the veggies I gave them 😭 they thought I was trying to poison them. They rate it 3/10 Susan liked the carrots.
