I checked Piglet's ears today - she has blue ear lobes. Pooh's are more yellow/green.
It will be interesting to see if they lay different colored eggs.

I am all balled up here, upset and frustrated, can’t think straight - having a miserable week.

Just glad at least the weather is good. I was enjoying sitting with the chooks when poor Floyd was killed in front of me. They were scrapping a brawl broke out next thing he’s gone

This morning thought I lost Twister couldn’t find her anywhere, a couple hrs later she showed up, she had dug a tunnel in the hay pile and laid an egg in there. Then the boys were harassing the hens, and then Floyd…

Sounds like a nightmare to have witnessed that

And Rico is a dead duck he just killed Floyd, i hate these roosters. I have been doing my darnedest to get rid of these rotten little flockers, and I am sure Rico was the cause of Tuff’s demise.

To say I hate the little so and so’s would be mild. The hens hate them, I hate them. I will never hatch eggs again, I will never give anyone any of my eggs to hatch.

I just caught each of them and chucked them into the summer house - they can stay there till I can either get rid of them or get my BIL’s brother down to kill them for me.

I am so done with Roos. ROTTEN. LITTLE. FLOCKERS

How awful. I'm so very sorry. I can't believe that happened to you. I can't remember anyone ever saying their rooster had killed another. That had to be horrible to see. Just awful.

Calypso doesn’t understand why there are no more blueberries.
Maybe I am being too strict with rations.
She also doesn’t understand why my shirt, though similar in color, is not a good substitute for blueberries.

I like that news. Hopefully Butters has bottomed out.

I'm not convinced there isn't more "wrong" with her, she's not acting like a normal molting chicken. Except for going nuts over walnuts she still acts like she doesn't feel well, though she's better. But there's nothing to do except nurse her along and see how she does. Time will maybe tell.

I just wish we had some place near here that I could get them processed. Then I wouldn’t worry so much. But there is no place.

I was discussing with mum and it likely would be cheaper to get my vet to humanely euthanize them rather than driving 2 hrs and paying to get them processed. The price of gas and all…

Made a modification to Chickatraz for them to familiarize themselves with navigating the coop roosting platform bars. I want to move them out there next week or sooner. I made a step/jump down spot with the old roosting bar. So what do they do? All mush together on the old bar. They barely fit and spent about fifteen minutes changing places and getting everyone on there.

Maybe by tomorrow they will be more used to the new structure. They didn't have much time to explore it this evening. I'm going to try to lower the step bar so the platform will look more appealing (?)
