I was going to suggest one of those tracking programs on her mobile. I'm afraid to now. He might say "actually since she stopped carrying her purse she never has her mobile with her anymore".

Chickens need pockets to keep their phones in. So do us women....

Good grief no.
The bantams lay white eggs but the Marans are dark brown and I get every shade in between depending on the gene mix.

Do you get blue eggs too? (Asking for a friend).

I almost lost Ned 90 minutes ago

Somewhere between 4 and 5:00 pm locally Ned fell in the pool. I found him at 5:00. The ambient air temperature was 92°F (33°C) and the water was 84°F (29°C). This is what saved his life.

As I got t o the edge of the pool he was able to swim over to me at the side. I thought I had another simple extraction. Watch what happens when he gets out on the video below.

Something was clearly wrong with him.

It became plain quickly that Ned was suffering hypothermia. Watch him shiver in the video below.

Actually Bob, you said the water needs to be warmed by the sun. What if you got one of the clear ones?

As with all life it is a balance of risk. My poor hens have more risk because of the pool. I hope I am making up for putting them at that risk by the other things I do. If I ever thought that it was a net-negative for them, I would rehome them. It may be self delusion but I think on the whole, this is a pretty good place to be chicken.

I think any of us would be happy to come back as one of your chickens Bob...despite the pool

Wow, I know what you mean, I know horses named Diamond, Apple, Buddy, Butter, Star. I don’t have a problem with those names but the issue is that you can google most common horse names and they all show up. It’s not very original. Like my horses name is Hudson. I haven’t met one other horse with the name Hudson.

Now lets talk about horse names. I have 3 boys. 2 have sort of common names, Louis and Russ. The other my mom named. Dirt, the horse in my avatar is named Dirt. And when my daughter takes her boy to local horse shows, Russ becomes Rust Bucket in the ring....my mom has worn off on her lol. One of the most memorable show names i've heard through the years at our local shows, here in eastern ky were talking about Pacing *standardbreds rule* and Racking classes *Tennessee walkers and Ky/Rocky Mountain horses* was a flea bitten grey Standardbred mare called White Trash. Don't let that name fool you, when she was showing, she showed up, 9 times out of 10 in open pacing she walked away with the blue ribbon.

I always liked the horse names in "My Friend Flicka" and its sequels. "Thunderhead" is very majestic.
