More chickens is never a problem (unless, of course, you get to the hoarding point and can't take good care of them. - but you are far, far from that point yet, so all is good!!!)
Or if you're my neighbor who does have too many chickens. Really, it is possible. I truly hope that she does NOT get any more next spring. :fl

OK. Now I need to ask.
What is a donut?
I know the sugary kind, but not the snow filled parking lot kind.
Donuts are when you find an empty parking lot covered with snow and ice, and turn the wheel hard. The car spins on the ice.

Some of my siblings did this to learn how to drive on ice, and how to pull out of a spin. I don't like whiplash, so I never did.

@Ponypoor you requested reactions. Chooks will have to wait until daylight as I have to take the kid requesting seed cakes (and said cakes) to school this morning. However, here's Sherlock's reaction.

Hahahaha poor pup! His poor Jose must be very cold 😁

Oh how I wish we could still get this here. My next trip cross the border, I have a shopping list!
@Ponypoor you asked for chook reactions

Upon returning they NEVER shelter under that bush.

Meanwhile Sherlock is demonstrating what he'll look like as a doddering old dog, many years from now.View attachment 3668009

i love the play by play that was awesome - I love when they first see snow ever 😊

And Sherlock is a hoot, dogs and snow- it’s so much fun 😊

We would need a side shot of the black girl, but both could be full silkie just the satin or normal feathered variety. The white girl look just like @Ponypoor white satin girl. The 5 toes are a silkie trait but as previously mentioned traits of a couple more breeds. The black skin, beards, muffs and top knots, those are all silkie traits. Either way they are lovely girls and I hope you have many years to enjoy them.
@SimpleJenn

This is Henny Penny you can see her feathered feet, she has 5 toes, and dark skin all indicative of a silkie, but her feathers are normal.

It's an adventure. Middle kid had to work today so drove in by himself. Got messages from him when I got back from the school: dark pics and a help message. He hit a patch of ice, slid off the road, then rig (empty, thankfully) slid some more. Tree caught it. He's home and fine, tow truck is fishing it out, don't know what sort of repairs he may need. He's still learning how to drive on icy roads. Snow had lessened to almost nothing while we were heading out to get him (discovered he'd gotten a ride home, leaving his phone in his rig). It's thickening up again, so hoping it's not a hindrance for the towing.

Edit: and the tow truck just pulled in, still driveable.
I'm happy that everything turned out okay! That sounds like quite an adventure!

oh, that sounds like fun. My hubby doesn't like front wheel drive because he can't do donuts so easily. ( over 50 - think he would have grown up already??? Nope, still a teenager at heart!). When he goes to work (vocational HS) on a snowy day - he gets there before they have cleared the parking lot, and he will drive backwards in the empty, snow filled lot so he can do some 'donuts'.

Maintenance guy saw him later in the day and said 'Hmm, someone was doing donuts in the parking lot - wonder who it could have been?" (he saw the tracks - he wasn't in yet, either) His response: Hmm, must have been slippery since it wasn't plowed - probably someone spun out by accident.
 :lau  :lau

I draw the line when he tries to do it on the road. Never know when a car might come around the corner -I don't care if road is presently deserted. There are plenty of large parking lots he can use right after a snow storm if he just HAS to get it out of his system!
My father would take me to the Sears parking lot in the evenings to practice ‘driving’ - I learnt to drive on a standard Nissan 😁 in the depths of winter.
