Coco is my friendliest lap chicken, but now I can’t even touch her because she is in molt.

Looks.like they are getting this all figured out!

They know what they need and want to do, but they get foiled by Popcorn sometimes. About every third evening they end up retreating to their high run roost!

I don't think we'll trick or treat tonight...kid got plenty of candy at the trunk or treats on Saturday.

However, I will need to bundle up here in a few to bring hot mash to the chicky birds. I'll make Morinth a seperate bowl inside the coop.

Morinth had a full crop when I checked!

I had to run out there to chase my dog down since he took off next door to harass my parent's poor dog.
Stopped by the coop (which the backdoor wasn't latched! It was frozen shut though) and managed to un-jam the door. Morinth was right there and so I gave her a quick check over. Full crop, nice feet, clean nostrils and vent. Thanked her then locked it all back up and came in. I'll get the leftover mash bowls tonight when I go to close them in.
now to warm up because I didn't have any snow gear on

One must always be very cautious when using antibiotics.

First because of developing resistance. We all have a responsibility to preserve the antibiotics we do have and preserve their effectiveness. So the more often you use them the less effective they will be. It is also very important that you complete any dosing course which you start.

Second because they are hard to come by.

Because if this I will only give mine antibiotics when absolutely necessary. I need to know that I am treating an infection that is potentially life threatening. If I don't think they are at risk of passing away, I'm going to let their immune system have a chance to fight it off.
