Yes, I was not and am not treating them, just observing. I subscribe to how you and others here think about it too. But I had been nursing a doubt about it in case not treating could have bad consequences for the rest of their lives. I finally decided to ask everyone their opinion if they cared to reply. Thank you!

I felt really burned by my last vet experience. It went from a collaborative feeling (on my part) to an adverse feeling. Probably due to that particular vet, and me being naive. In any case I really can’t think of it as a collaborative situation anymore. So it’s great to have everyone here, and in general elsewhere on BYC, the collective experience, to draw from. This thread does feel collaborative to me. Thank you, Bob! This is your thread which you cultivated as the friendly and welcoming place it is.

PS The Spuds are getting more adult-like feathers and seem to be growing well enough, though Anna is smaller than the other two. I want to try to weigh them soon.

And some of the rearrangement in roosting order (Chia and Tuff are where Storm and company normally are on top of next boxes)

Pear in the corner (usually in opposite corner next to Hector or up on high roost) and Enigma on the lower roosts. Cheetah and Blanche on the upper (usually on the other upper). Storm's butt, Quartz, Nimbus, and Twirp on the other upper. It appears as if Storm will not wean the babies. Rather the babies will abandon mama.

Cardhu was settled on the other side of Tuff, with Cumulo tucked behind her and Granite farther down, near Mera (more usual locale for her whilst moulting).

Head count is getting challenging with musical perching (only some due to moulting).

Hazel has suddenly become very grouchy, chasing Popcorn around all day recently. Popcorn and all the Spuds were on alert. So much mayhem! Mainly aimed at Popcorn but any Spuds were extra points. It’s somewhat better now. I think Hazel’s starting a molt. Popcorn has been having a very heavy molt and likes to go into the coop to rest mid-morning. But the day before yesterday Hazel was following her in there and repeatedly throwing her out!

Tonight’s roosting went peacefully, relatively. Actually there was bokking going on between Hazel and Popcorn. Before the Spuds even tried to join them.

Full moon time, everyone here is grumpy, no wonder my chicks roost on the door tops!

Glad they are doing well, Ruth is smaller than her siblings, so I wouldn’t worry about wee Anna

I’m not sure exactly, what is wrong with Sir Jaffar. He has been sluggish and without energy the last few days. His situation hasn’t improved since Friday.
I have been taking him with me everywhere, making sure he gets water and vitamins. He’s been eating normally but he just doesn’t have the energy I’m used to seeing. He’s not interested in being around the other chooks at all.
I kinda thought that I should say something about it to the club here.

His poops, comb color, eyes, nares, neck/skin color, all look normal? His breathing - you said he had a cough a day or so ago. Does he do better inside where the air might be better? The almond harvest has always been hard on him, right?
