I’m in the same situation as our beloved leader @BY Bob . Out of eggs and have to resort to purchasing store bought variety eggs. I’m so ashamed !
My church friend who buys my stuff sent me the eggshells from her store eggs. Same color as Coco’s but not nearly the same quality!

Yep tis the season for resting from laying eggs all season. If it wasn’t for my Azurs and Silkies I wouldn’t have eggs either.

Here is the only good thing about buying eggs from the store:

The cardboard cartons make a great fire starter in the woodstove.

Yep tis the season for resting from laying eggs all season. If it wasn’t for my Azurs and Silkies I wouldn’t have eggs either.

Note: Dakota is still laying 3 a week. But finding the eggs in my yard is a challenge. I give that cute redhead a lot of credit!

Another source for cardboard cartons is the local church! I get three a week, sometimes six, and then I ask them, what do you think my chickens are, Superman?

The clients I sell my eggs to give me piles of cartons (and I do mean piles), any that are worn I chuck in the recycle box.

Oh speaking of eggs, I opened those eggs from Henny, and they contained nothing but big golden yolks. I was very relieved.
