Got 3 pumpkins done today. Will blend tomorrow because if I stand too much longer I won't be able to walk tomorrow. My hip and back hurt!

Two Lumina white pumpkins, and one pie pumpkin. I saved plenty of seeds for myself, as well as some gourd seeds to plant in random places next year! The rest of the seeds, guts, and peels are sitting outside to be divided into snack packs for the chickens haha.

This is as good a pic I have of her sideways. I was told in a silkie group on Facebook that she's not a "real" silkie, whatever that means. Mixed I guess. She's clearly a CHICKEN and that's all that matters. I just hope she friendlies up to me eventually.

It looks like she does have a beard in this picture!

BTW: I love her facinator - whether she is a 'real' silkie or not!

No idea who laid it....yet....

Likely candidates: Chia, Shan based upon comb color. Less likely: Enigma, Havoc: combs still too pale, E doesn't have enough wattle development either.

What to do with my roo ? He seems tired all the time and prefers being inside the house. He’s well fed and is eating and drinking. But just like me, he lacks energy!

He's growing new feathers. That takes lots of energy

Oooo a cute little egg! I believe mine come of age next month sometime, but I told them they can wait until spring to lay if they want to. I'm happy to have the silkies, it'll be fun to get little eggs once in a while.

Tell them she is a Polkie - silkie X Polish - they are very popular

She sure looks like a satin silkie to me… but then what do I know?

Only if that were true. He loses three or four feathers in a day and is still fully feathered except for his neck. But he’s still eating and I’m still feeding!

I agree, she's beautiful. I love all our silkie crosses. They are generally the easiest going of our chickens.
