Oooo a cute little egg! I believe mine come of age next month sometime, but I told them they can wait until spring to lay if they want to. I'm happy to have the silkies, it'll be fun to get little eggs once in a while.
My silkies are darn good layers, when they aren’t broody they lay most days. But they sure are noisy about it!!! 😁

Right Fluffy!

Our house chicken, Gabby doesn't make a peep. She goes to her spot, scratches and digs around . Sits and in 20 minutes or so she'll leave the nest and there's a beautiful little egg.

Good job on the career goals! Warning ⚠️ that career will take much away from you , be careful with that. And stay strong!
You are very right, it is a heavy thing even when you try to remain professionally removed, not unlike your line of work before you retired.
That said, it is soooo needed where I live and I very much want to be able to help and do what I can, so I will assume the risks and try anyway :) very very kind and apt warning. Thank you 😊

It’s a very dark night. No lights on and it’s black as pitch. Suddenly I felt a creature creeping up on my blankets towards my head. I usually keep my bedroom door open to hear the birds next door. This time BoPeeps braved the darkness and wanted to scare the 💩 out of me. Well, it worked! I love the little lady, but I draw the line at sleeping with hens.
