I am so sorry about this - I take it this was unexpected. Your Gran must be so saddened, with all her health issues she must feel terribly anxious.
And you and your mum I am sure are devastated. I am think of all of you and hoping you are managing ok.

My old dog Taffy, would chew on my shoes. So I left a pair of Sketchers out for her. Took her weeks to devour that brand of shoe!
I chase her with my arms outstretched calling her name. She runs to other chickens to get lost in the bunch. It works as I usually will become distracted and wind up chasing them all with my arms outstretched. My top hen Delicious always takes one for team. She doesnt smack my face anymoreI have a hen named Rosie that is kinda skittish by nature and so I never hold her, but when i hold other chickens she pecks and pulls at my leg pants. Shes just possessive and jealous but when I go to hold her she yells and runs away, lol. Oh Rosie I love you!

Thankfully she has you all to remind her she still has a wonderful family that cares and loves her.
I try to spy on them but it never works cause I see their head bolt right up and the stare down begins, me only showing my eyes through the curtain, them all neck stretching to seeOmg same. I always try to explain to the gals that the weather is not my fault. If I hang with them in the run during lousy weather their tone changes tho. We sometimes stare at one another, me in my coop, (the house) and them in their coop and run.

So funny when they express their discontent. I get yelled at by coppertop when I leave the back of the henhouse open. Especially if she needs to lay an egg, lol. And guess what, i do as she says and close it right up telling her dont go gettin' your feathers all ruffled, ok, ok. Its closed, jeeesh!!! I'm clearly bottom of the pecking order. She was such a happy girl to have this corn today. I just washed it in cold water then dipped it into hot . I thought it would last longer but found it chewed up and in the mud within 30 minutes. Then she shouted at me when I put it in the bin
