Yes she helps with feeding them! She loves going "come get some scratchies!"It’s good to get them interested early. Soon she will be big enough to help with chorse
How old are your chooks now?
I am on lineI was just thinking about how I wanted you to be online Ponypoor! I was thinking about tagging you and saying that we need you online because the thread is moving slowly.
Pastels huge spurs! They are sharp too. I might need to file them down.

Monday - mugs Monday (show us you beautiful ‘mugs’ - your chooks head photos)Good morning y'all! Can y'all remind me of the days that are for posting pictures such as Pony Sunday? It's been a while so I forgot.![]()
Yes I would say look for eggs around week 20, or more likely in the spring. I am surprised my chicks are laying I figured they would wait till spring.Yes she helps with feeding them! She loves going "come get some scratchies!"
I've had them 13 weeks so Kasumi is 14 weeks, Ash 14.5-15 weeks, and I believe Shep and Liara are 16 weeks. They were all different ages but the store had the older ones all marked down since they had been there for more than a week. Not sure about the two silkies, my friend said she hatched them during the late spring or summer, she couldn't recall.I was told when I bought my chicks I could expect eggs around Christmas IF they lay before spring.
They were doing fine, perfectly dignified, until you guys came along!Yeah. I did not manage to pull it out.
Oh! Love the name btw. But I think Patsy and Lily are 100% black stars! I have two and they are so pretty!Introducing the current residents of Fluffy Butt Acres

Patsy & Lilly have been here the longest and we ar enot really certain what kind of birds they are but they are likely Black Sex Links. Hattie and Jabber have just joined the flock this summer as they were chicks we got back in April. Here are their individual photos.
Patsy
She is our alpha hen and is extremely friendly. While not a big fan of being picked up she comes right up to you and will talk and visit.

Lilly is currently #2 in the pecking order and intends to stay there. She has become our little enforcer and she defends the flock from such terrors as squirrels, rabbits, doves, and most importantly, ducks.

More to come on our newbies.
Is Butterscotch a type of legbar? She’s got a nice combination of comb, wattles and pretty ears plus snazzy poof. The topknot doesn’t appear to be in the way of her vision either.Last March 2023, today is just as bad, yet I still have a couple of brave hearty youngsters who are out in the slushy rain/snow mix
Butterscotch says she is a tough chook
