To really tell I need a photo of the chicken in question standing in profile like this. I'm not great at this.

I was on a project up in Cold Lake Alberta once - there is an airforce base there, they would have the fancy dancy military fighter jets flying around landing and taking off all the time, my boss came in one morning all excited because he could see them taking off at night with their engines all fired up. I wanted to go and check it out but no one would go out on the Right of Way (where the pipeline runs) with me, they wanted to go back to their hotels for dinner they had seen it many times they said. I didn’t feel comfortable enough driving on the R of W at night by myself - not good driving into the ditch in your truck!!!!

Yours eat worms? Through all the years I had children's they wouldn't eat worms. I even threw some in for them, but no. Maybe your worms are more tasty there than here. This girl is looking back as if to ask..how do I look? View attachment 3739206

Oh yes, not slugs which is a shame, but worms are a favorite. There is one chicken who refuses them if I find a worm and serve it to her (can’t remember who?), but to find a worm in a hole herself is the BEST.

Ash stole an entire heel of bread. Hubby calls her FatAsh.

I didn't even get a chance to rip it in half for the silkies! Usually the four big girls get 1.5 of the heels and the silkies get the last half since they stay to the back of the group.
Oh well, I'll try to seperate them tomorrow and sneak extra snacks their way!

I have a silkie who regularly steals my bagels when I sit outside with them, she’s a fast one! She jumps up on me leaps up and grabs the bagel and takes off. I think she has seagull in her.

I still call him Mr. Pompeii. I think he deserves the dignity of a full name and not just a letter. It's bad enough the ladies don't treat him with dignity.

I do also when I am working (ok wasting time) in the barn - things like ‘Pompeii, Mr Pompeii, but you can call me Mr P little chickie’ when I see Him strutting for the ladies haha!

My mom said to me many years ago that the heel of the bread and the crust, were the best part because of the extra vitamins. Yeah right, I didn’t believe that for a second. I mentioned that the exterior of the bread was only the toasted surface and that no additional vitamins were present in the heels.
I said that “yes I am young, but I’m not stupid!” She sent me to my room.

You know I make my own bread, the heel toasted is my favourite part - with lots of Becel spread on it

@Ponypoor, I’m watching the All Star hockey stuff, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are doing really well! So are the Edmonton (spelling, sorry) Oilers are also doing very well. Of course the team that I like isn’t doing very well. Come on Tampa Bay Lightning!! Do better!!

I hatched out two silkie x Polish (Mr P) babies in Nov, I did the gender DNA test to get there genders right away. The frizzle is a pullet - Betty. And the other a boy Bert, as long as he behaves he can stay.!

They are 10 weeks now and their mama is still brooding them bless her

Those are caramel coloured feathers not poop btw
