Ohhhhh - this is great - he can keep an eye out for you for when bagged straw comes in - and maybe you can get him to buy a bag for you (reimbursed, of course), and you can split his 15% discount - a win for you....and a 'delivery fee' for him!!!

I have often thought of working for them - but they don't pay enough to replace my other job, and I have my hands full right now with Full-time bully boss, teaching part time, and my 'small' 🤪 flock.

🤔Hmmm......maybe I should just break down and name them all:idunno - then in theory i would have very little work caring for them, as my count would be a big fat goose egg!!:gig

That's some stunning tax.

I'm so excited. My friend JD who has chickens and watches ours when we are away has taken a job at tractor supply for some extra money. They trained him on taking care of the chicks the other day.

So why am I excited? I know JD will keep their water clean. He's already trying to devise ways to help keep the wood shavings out when he's not there.
This sounds like a good thing!

Lovely pictures.
I can’t see an issue with Mozzarella’s eye. I hope it is OK.
I doubt that getting annoyed with us because we are boring you is likely to be the best way to motivate us to entertain you.
There are lots of us older folk on this thread. We are well used to being considered boring and strange.
I gave a ❤️ to your Caturday post. Don’t recall anything from you yesterday.
Hmmmm I may be old, but I am not boring hahahahahaha!

Though Mr P thinks I am trying to scare him half to death every time I sneeze (which is lots today with this cold! - hope chickens can't catch human colds!).

Sydney is laying. Just pointing out its not a barred rock thing.

I say that it's a mild winter thing here, today I got another 16 eggs - I am giving them away to friends and family - selling about half of them. I need a couple more customers!

I need a couple of Dark Brahma and Appenzeller Spitzhauben, if you can get him to bring to the border that would be great hahahaha :)

Darn chickens think they own this place.

@BY Bob How high off the ground is your coop? Is it difficult to reach under to clean it out? I assume it gets raked out annually, no? Previous coops I built were 3' off the ground for a nice height to have a roost underneath....but this next one that will be under the low end of the roof of the big run, I am thinking 18" or maybe 2'. The 2' is kind of pushing it...but I was thinking 18" would make it difficult to rake out (it will be 4' deep and, given thelarge shipping crate I got for free - 70" long...and the crate itself is 5' high, but I need to 'lift' the front of the top so it has both high ventilation and a sloped roof (that part of the main pen is 'to be' roofed...but the height is already pre-determined by the support posts in place in the run. Hubby didn't listen correctly to me and it is a good 10-12 on the low end than I wanted. :(
First I love coop design.

The Cluckle Hut is higher than the main coop. I believe the main coop is 18 inches but the exact height is in the coop plans if you want to check. 18 inches gives the best rain protection. They all run there in heavy rain. It is harder for me to get under than the Cluckle Hut. The downside to the higher height for the Cluckle Hut is the ramp which was a real problem for Gucci.

Now the floor in the main coop is removable so I can get to the area underneath if necessary. I just need to unscrew it and I have access.

Everything is okay with Mozzarella's eye. I just thought that maybe the bright sky was bothering her eyes,
No, you don't annoy me. No one here annoys me. You're all special in your own way as said in my signature.
I can agree with the boring and strange part. Old Man is well over his 50s and I consider him boring and strange.
Grandma's turning 8 and I don't consider her boring and strange, regardless if 8 years of a chicken's life is 80 in human years... and that is quite old.

Grades are fine and I always have time for everything. I understand you folks are much older than me and have a lot to talk about. The thing is, I don't really like sharing about my personal life and I guess this is why I mostly post about chickens. I'll try to be on here more often, even if that is featherhead throwing a few corny jokes here and there.
I didn't know you were somewhat partial to BRs.
I don't find anyone here boring. As said in my signature, you are special in your own way. Therefore, you aren't boring. Like I said, I'll try to be on here more often. In fact, I'm close to 1,000 posts so time to rant about chickens.
“Corny jokes”? I think this guy is serious!
