Here we call it ‘voluntary taxation’ - all proceeds go towards community improvements such as schools and hospitals. Also up here none of lottery/casino winnings are taxed. IE: if one were to win say $50million there would be no tax on the winnings - only on any interest gained from the winnings.

Wondering why the quote of MacBeth ? This house is ‘sleep no more’. I was awoken by the electrical breakers going in the kitchen, then the Generator kicked in - it is at this point I am fully awake. The ‘Geny’ is right outside the house near my bedroom - it’s quite noisy.

Outside looks good, no snow so it isn’t very bright on the outside cams.

Hmmm wonder what’s up with the electricity being out…? It’s not snowy so roads shouldn’t be icy, there are thunderstorms slated for tonight but I haven’t heard any thunder here…. It’s not overly windy - hmmm I wonder what’s up!?

Interesting Notes

Good News
Aurora spotted it. Everyone did as they should. It was not interested in them from what I could tell.

Bad News
As usual, it is not afraid of me.

Aurora alarmed and all the song birds went quiet. Not the other way around. I think she spotted it first.

I noticed that first.

Éowyn was out with us. She stopped and looked towards the tree. That started me looking in that direction for the threat.

Then the hawk chirped. I know that sound is one a Cooper's Hawk makes and that's how I found it in the tree.

Scary! Good job, Aurora.Bob, our resident red shoulder talk has been keeping on eye on my girls as well. In fact, he perched in the walnut tree over the run this weekend when the girls were in the little field OUTSIDE the run. I did my best at the aerial predator alarm call and the girls ran for cover. I kept talking to the hawk loudly and my dog was running around after she heard the call. I ran to the rescue of my slower girls with bad legs and hand carried them to the run. I’m not sure what would’ve happened if my dog hadn’t been running around. I need to replace my Nerf gun. I don’t know why the last one stopped working.

We have 2 weather alerts out- flash freeze an snow squalls. 20cm to 40cm - oh joy.,..

The chooks are not going to happy this afternoon - they have been getting out and about every evening when I get home, I doubt they will today
