Yep! Margo was my Boss Bird before she left us too early.

And she's only just started laying? Or was she on holiday?

She was part of breeding stock and I don’t know if she had started laying at the breeders. I said I wanted younger rather than older ones so she was one of the ones that got grabbed.

Tonight is the babies’ first night sleeping outside. Sniff, sniff! It’s also the night I discovered our whole yard is infested with rats. Disgusting!

Oh no! I assume you have them protected from the rats.

I was wondering the same thing - I imagined an after-dark trip to lock up the coop and lots of beady eyes!

Charlie added to that total too so it was another four-egg day. I might get a five-egg day soon, given that Lucy is still insisting on laying!

It was beautiful country. It will be even prettier in a few weeks when the leaves get going. The Alfa Club has a fall winery drive coming up next month that should be during peak leaf season. I am really looking forward to that now. If the weather is nice that car will be perfect for it.
