So of the six chicks, two are revealing themselves as Roos via lumpy reddening combs.

Mina, at ~5 weeks old.

And Brown-streak-on-the-side-of-his-face-dude, also 5 weeks.

Two are still cutie pullets:

Bananas, 5 weeks, whose name will have to change as I can’t have another B name for note-taking reasons.

And this wee thing, who at 2.5 weeks is showing the very teeny tiniest hint of a crest! Is it unlikely she’ll also keep floofy cheeks?

Like I said - return is not really an option- it took a whole day to put up and it would take me myself even longer alone to take down.

In chicken news, I think Widget is thinking about going broody. She was in "her" nest box at open up today. She's out and about now, but she's making her broody "buk buk buk buk" noise.

Nope, girly, you're not getting eggs to hatch. Or chicks to raise. Not happening. Maybe in another year.

I keep thinking Tippy is going broody but she isn’t quite committed to staying on the nest. And today she was running amok kept escaping through the holes in the temp fencing to the tree line between my neighbours.

Along with Eli-too, Blanche, butterscotch, whiskers, and Sophia - brats all of them!

Yes! Always wear safety goggles, gloves etc - oh please esp safety goggles you need your eyes.
