So the post office person on the phone was incorrect that they were being delivered, they were waiting for me to come get them!
:he

At 1:30 I was tired of waiting and went down to complain in person. The they were. Here they are oon the way home in their box.

Names to come.

Yay!!! So glad they arrived and are doing well... but they are feathered, not fluffy!!! But so pretty, oh so pretty!!!

Yes. We did pullets this time instead of chicks I didn't want to deal with another boy. I can't keep them and it's hard for my wife to let them go.

We got 2 because one of our friends is also looking to add to her flock.

I want the flock size to be at 4. That way they can pair off as they like. I have found that with 3 you wind up with a loner. I don't want that for Hattie. She's too sweet and when Jabber goes she will be the outsider.

So now I will need to arrange play dates and try to bring everyone along. It's going to be a summer of flock dynamics. I'm looking forward to all the integration challenges.

Its amazing how much work comes from just one rooster. If Jabber had been the hen he was supposed to be, I'd be all set.

Chicken Math is much harder with a small flock
