You should live here! Illegal fireworks and firecrackers going off all hours sporadically since April. Just get ready to sleep and suddenly someone sets off firecrackers or noise bomb that rattles the house!

The hens and pullets got used to the noises but dogs in the neighborhood bark their heads off, poor things.
That’s so sad, my horses were a bit jittery, but my wee chicks were very alert and restless. I was worried about them, being ill and having to deal with more stress.

I received the Corid powder yesterday and started everyone on it. I was happy to see my wee ill chickie drinking it - yay. I am still keeping a guarded watch on her.

I will feel better once she starts holding her wing feathers light against her body, she is out and about and I see her pecking around. I have my fingers and eyes crossed for her.

Well I am just waiting for the Vet to
Come and give the horses their shots. Seems the older chicks have invaded my office.Jaffarra and Sweetie

I wonder if those little birds understand that they are making me crazy. 🤪 staying out late, when they should be in bed!!
Try being here we’re it doesn’t get dark until about 10pm! I make them go to bed. Lots of drama sometimes. Tonight will be drama with the bright sunshine. Last night was easy due to the cloudy overcast sky making it darker.

Phaedra, the Blue Breda, is put with the outdoor girls, Taffy, the Blue Wheaten Ameraucana, and Mini and Violet, the Silkies.

While the backyard was going thru a remodel the 4 hens were a peaceful group, even sharing a doghouse during a sudden spring shower.

By June 2016 we lost beautiful deteriorating Taffy, the vet couldn't save her. Never failed but we always lost our best layers:

Now we're left with only 3 hens again. What new bird to add to the remaining one Blue Breda and two Silkies?

Awwww I am saddened to hear you lost her - our pets sure do give us pleasure but also at times sadness.
