Niamh Update

She did pretty well today. Was up and about all day. That is a huge improvement from yesterday. She ate grapes, blueberries, mealworms, and scratch. She would not eat the scrambled eggs I made for her.

She did want to go out and play with her friends.

But we kept her in all day.

She did enjoy playing with one of the cats' toys.

Roosting was different tonight.

Last night, she did not even try to roost. She just lay down in a corner. She is doing much better today.

She went to bed with a full craw. I think she will be able to rejoin everyone tomorrow provided she continues to improve. Her poo is no longer green though it is still pretty liquid.

She was all over the house today and watched some TV with Mrs BY Bob. Frankly, I'm a little worried that she might now want to leave the house.

Yep that was my thought also! She’s seen how you Hoomans live and is thinking “wow I am missing out!”.

Loved the cat toy that was fun!

I'd keep her in-house till her tail goes up. She may have eaten something in the yard that didn't agree w/ her?

It's one of the reasons we rabbit fence off our tomato plants so the chickens don't over ingest the leaves or tomato fruit which, though not poisonous, has toxic effects to the digestive tract. We ration a cherry tomato or two but don't allow the hens to overeat anything tomatoey. Some birds have the good instinct to stay away from toxic things while others are just too curious.

I'm definitely leaning towards she ate something she shouldn't have. What i couldn't tell you. No one else has eaten it and the yard has had the same plants in it ever since we got chickens.

Poor Clyde, he is not feeling well again. Poor fella, he is back to wheezing and coughing/sneezing. I went ahead and dosed him with some prednisone and also back on the Tylosin. I wish I could get these guys vaccinated for MG. It would make their lives much easier (mine also!).
Oh no! I hope it clears quickly.

It shocked me. I could hear the sound and had to go see what she was doing.

Here are some additional photos such as these fabric pumpkins. I ended up getting a small black and white plaid pumpkin.

Bees galore in the classroom. There was even a wool spinning area, where a woman sitting behind a wool spinner (whatever that's called) was explaining the process.

More desserts.

The same area where I bought the pumpkin, they even have a picture of a chicken. Tony has met her twin.

One last look. Of course this event was jam packed. Parking was available on the grass too.

Butterfly garden wasn't too interesting because of the weather getting colder so there were mostly dried flowers, however they were some pleasant looking flowers available.
I guess that's it. The rest of the photos are family photos, but due to privacy reasons and my personal preference, I won't be showing those. I will admit that the event was very fun. I did not want to leave.

It really was a good time. Did you listen to the musicians at the mill?
