Well done my dear, that is a fine start on a beard to be proud of. I see you are taking mine and our esteemed Aunt Aurora's advice of eating spicy snacks. Have you tried the spiciest of snacks horse flies and yellowjackets or wasps yet? They really promote excellent beard growth. Horse flies are my personal favorite. Spicy and juicy.
She is remarkable! Gorgeous beard and muffs!

Farewell My Friend

It is with great sadness that I share this.

Last night Phyllis passed away in her sleep.

She was very active yesterday and I should have seen that as a sign. She left the coop for the first time in days and just like in old times she positioned herself under my feet.

I just finished making arrangements for her cremation. Mrs BY Bob wants to finally let her be in the house with us.

It will never be the same here. She was my shadow when I was outside. I'm certain for the rest of my life I will check my feet to make sure that I'm not going to step on her.

Be at peace my dear friend. You will never be forgotten.
Bob and Mr's. Bob. I'm really so sorry.

Phyllis was truly special. To be honest I'm shocked to read this. :hugs:hugs

Morning, sir. I know this is vacation but it's time to pack up and go home. How did I get here? I'm everywhere! Wherever you are, I'm there. In the heavens, in the shower, I'm everywhere. You can't escape me! I snuck into the cargo. Don't disrespect me and take advantage of my presence because I nearly got eaten by a dog. Can we go home please? You want to stay one more say here? Fine, I'll leave. Watch me get nearly eaten by a dog again.
*scoffs and says in a British accent* What a bastard!

@RoyalChick

I have been using my evaporative cooler this week in the Hen House but the fan was of more use really, but today the humidity now below 50% so I should see some nice cooling effects - I’ll document it for us all tonight when I run the unit. I know yesterday with the humidity it wasn’t overly effective. But the movement of the air at least helped the poor old heavily feathered hens who really feel the heat. I put a couple ice packs in the water to help further cool things down.

EDIT - I should add that the humidity has been around 80% so far.

It’s currently 81°F with a humidex of 88°F.

I would love to have something to really help old Lulu cool down, the fan really isn’t that great for her.
