In Albis was eating the grass I'm growing thru the fence I have up ( I'm fine with her doing that) but when I walked over there to see what she was up to she turned around and faced her fluffy butt in my face and said she was not doing anything 🤣 sure enough I was able to snap some photo of her without her "seeing" me! 😁

Accidents happen. It’s how we learn from the experience that we better ourselves and care more accurately for our chooks
Good post Alex, very true. Even a 3 yr old has more understanding than we give them credit for.

@SimpleJenn I would explain the issue and that they will likely ‘not continue to develop’ due to high temps. No need to use words like die.

Also teach her to check that the dial is set properly after each meal and before bed. If it isn’t she can run get you to reset. Explain she cannot touch it herself as she is too young to take responsibility for it. But she is old enough to look and see and get help if needed.

We always had the youngsters involved in every aspect of the animals here from birth to death. My 3 year old niece remained and helped when my small animal Vet came to the house and put our old old golden down. She also helped bury him, making sure he had his brushes with him.

To this day she is very practical and has three cats ♥️

Phoebe, Bill and the wee grey one I can’t remember her name - aren’t they the strangest looking cats?! Well Bill is normal 🥰 oh Cloe that’s the grey girls name.
