Yesterday there wasn't a chance of her being in my garden. The heat was terrific. I honestly believe it was much hotter than the forecast had said.

Anyone have a guess on what breed Chocolate is? I bought her at TSC as a "Black sex link" yet she looks so diffrent, lays difrent sized eggs, is diffrent weight idk!

Definitely not a black sex link...maybe a f2, 3. She's got the look of a mix. The sex links are a first generation cross between 2 breeds. It making the cross, offspring can be identified as male or female by down color/markings at hatch. (Auto-sexing breeds do the same thing, but breed true, so every generation hatches that way unless other breeds get into the mix). Breeding sex links to each other allows the parent breeds characteristics (that don't show in the first cross) back into the offspring. These are NOT sexable by color at hatch. Mix in an entirely separate breed and everything gets more interesting, but less predictable.

I'm thinking that's what happened here. She's beautiful, but breedwise is a Bitsa: bits of this and that.

Houston, we have a problem.
A stinky problem.
For the past, well... a while, there has been a skunk around. And it's causing problems at night. I'll get more into context tomorrow. Meanwhile, let's talk about Tony. Oh great. Tony's colors resemble a skunk... And Mozzarella doesn't smell good like a skunk. Double whammy.
Reenie was sprayed by a skunk yesterday morning, it was so humid the smell hung in the air, made my clothes stink also. Chucked them.

Last night Reenie came in the barn and filled the barn with smelly skunk. She is such a dingaling. Not the first time she has done this. But the extreme humidity made it so bad, the smell just hung there - very nauseous.
