Success! All I need to do is point to the coop, and the new chooks know that it’s time to go to bed. So they all cooperate with me and head to the perches. :thumbsup
Awesome! My older ladies are all really good, the youngsters don’t want to go to bed until I do evening chores though.

So that’s when I make sure they are all in bed. By then the youngsters also all file into their perspective homes to sleep. They have me well trained!
 
I was dismantling the chick brooder and had an idea
I like having things chickens can be up on too. It gives them more places to be and in effect adds to the square foot area by utilizing the vertical space. They have an elevated log, a "ramp to nowhere," and two small tables.
