That avocado egg is a color a lot of breeders strive for. The inside shell will be a blue tint. Gorgeous!
I suspect it is one of the pullets as I found a wee one same colour on the floor - not sure how long it was there so threw it out. But that one was fresh.

I surprisingly enough have some good variety of blue, green, khaki and olive coloured eggs.

It’s another of the wonderful things I love about chickens ♥️ The wide variety of egg colours.

One of the big girls in the coop was a bad chicken this morning. Someone knocked over the crate I am using to block the entrance to the tote the littles sleep in. I go out to let the big girls out and the littles are running around with them. Trampy Judy is in the coop and half the time she should be called Pecky Judy as she is a terror on the roost. I open the door and there is no helping it, the littles rush out with the big girls and they scatter. I have littles in the stalls, down by the creek and Julio runs straight to Randy. Let's give props to Randy here, he completely ignored the rude Julio. Little man, the way to introduce yourself to the rooster for the first time is not run up and chest bump him. I rescued Julio first, Randy was good but he has never interacted with the chicks without a barrier present, I'm not pushing my luck. I then herded 4 of the silkies out of the stalls and back to the coop. The 2 down at the creek, they gave me trouble. Their first real taste of freedom and they were not ready to give it up. I chased them up and down the creek bank and around the yard a few times before I cornered them by the building. I'm still in my pajama's mind you, lets once again reinforce for the neighbors I am the crazy chicken lady.

The message was received though, they are ready for more time outside the coop. I will soon oblige them. First every single one needs a crest trimming. Their crests are already big enough that I cannot see their eye's clearly, so therefore they cannot see properly. I cannot trim them safely yet though, they each have crests full of pin feathers that I must not cut.
Oi! Brats!

Oh yes the crazy chicken lady - my neighbours know I am nuts! ‘Fluffy! Fluffy ! Come on Fluffy!’

Hahaha wonder what they would think upon learning fluffy is a chicken not a cat? 😉

Have to say I am blessed with two wonderful Roos, Bert is everything his Dada is - makes me super sad that they cannot get along anymore.

Fighting against tonight… 😢

But I bet, you went out and had Chucky Cheese pizza and a big rootbeer!
We don’t have those here. Have to go into town 30min drive for anything.

I am way to lazy to drive over an hr round trip just for take out. And it’s outrageous how expensive take out is!!!

It’s cheaper to eat chick starter 😆 probably healthier too!

I hear as long as chicken meat is cooked thoroughly 140 degrees minimum on meat thermometer that is the safest temp. Cute little cannibal sweeties ~ they have no idea that's a chicken especially after being cooked. I've fed cooked turkey (only using salt/pepper/oregano/ thyme ~ no dangerous ONION) to our birds over the yrs. Lamb is another favorite of theirs.
I had a stampede tonight when mum came to visit hahahaha - they think she has treats for them whenever she comes up. It’s Hilarious! All those little feet running - they make quite a bit of noise!

He is looking FIIIIINE!

I don't excuse abandoning pets - that is inexcusable. But, I can understand how it happens, and, quite frankly blame BOTH the family that abandons them AND surrounding people who are aware but don't take action on the pet's behalf.
My Nora kitty was found under a trailer, her owners left her when they moved. Poor thing was terrified of boxes she thought she'd be abandoned again. She was 18? When she got out and was hit. Poor thing had dementia.
