These connect top is left most, bottom is right most. At least they stacked. We were able to get to the old wood. Also have plans to keep hauling once expected winter supply is in so maybe we can get 2-3 years worth stored and cut the lengths down later.

Also saw these birds

Need to look them up, but saw several this time.

(We forgot to take the lid off the bed at home, so had to haul it home with us.)

And my sister has added chicks to her household. Rhode islanders. I think 5. Will be an adventure for her family.

My homestead is still kind of under development and with this many gardens and chickens, I don't always have time for wood cutting. I still need it so it sometimes results in running around in -40 (celsius- it's the same as Fahrenheit) and getting my nose frozen off. It's all part of life I guess

Finally home from our 4 hour trip to the big box store for window trim and hardware cloth (and frozen custard, got to get when the chance arises after all.) We're changing into clothes we don't care about getting poop on, then it's chicken catchin' time.

Unsurprisingly, the 3 we locked out of the little coop have stubbornly refused to enter the big coop and are perched at the top of the ladder in the run. Red Leader is the only one with sense. Plan of attack is Eenie (by far the gentlest hen) then Red Leader. Then Meanie and Sheba. Then tackle the 3 in the run. Hopefully no actual tackling will be necessary. :fl

Like it won't come soon enough, you have to start moaning about it on Sept. 1st?????:lau Let fall happen - it is my favorite season!!

I've got to get new pics of the babies - these are a good week old!
Hahaha ok you can have Fall - we don’t get nice weather in the autumn often so I just jump to winter.

What’s with attacking those feeders? My Azur hen just goes to town digging up the feeders and the waterers! It entraining to watch her attack the one big feeder 😊

Those look like Whisky Jacks (Grey Jays) but they are a northern country bird so I am not sure if they would be down your way. I see them here only in the winter.

They are super friendly and learn fast to ‘train’ us Hoomans to feed them.
