Here's some tax talk:

These people over here just keep on charging more taxes and not fixing anything. :barnie
You ought to drive thru the giant potholes of Los Angeles City or County roads. They are always blocked off for repairs & leave worse bumps when they finally finish the work :rant!

Oh that doesn't look too bad. I think my shavings from TSC are bigger but not massively so. I am surprised they are causing issues. Could it be that you need more depth so they aren't sliding on the lino? I would think you would want several inches.
She can also buy a stall mat to put in the coop on the floor, I use 5x7’ trailer mats in my stalls on top of the brick pavers. Hey are about 1/2” thick and weight a ton hahaha

To move them I roll them up in a tube, tied closed and run a 2x4 through it and two people one on each end can carry them.

The chickens have a couple in the Summer House - easier on their legs jumping down from the roost ledge.

Don’t use the ‘quick pick’ shavings - they are very fine.

Those are good shavings you have there. And I am sure they love digging and scratching in them 👍
I did get some once that was "fine flake". It was terribly tiny.

That may be the case. Since I was toying with the idea of a poop board and maybe no litter at all, I was kind of miserly with it.

Since this coop is contained in a building, I guess I'm trying to think of ways to keep it as clean as chickens can be. In the old coop, it was filthy anyway, between years of dust and dirt and roof leaks. I had a very rough homemade concrete floor and did a deep litter that I only cleaned out about once a year, and never that well to be honest. - This one's a fresh start.

This is a simple water resistant subfloor under the linoleum. Pretty solid, yet not to hard of a landing really.

Oh, I know how they do stuff there. Lived there most of my life.

El Paso is the same with the stuff like this, except they don't patch them. That or fix the drainage!

Oh that is a very good idea.
