I'm throwing this out there. Little Aster is going to make @BY Bob wait for that first egg as will all of my silkie pullets however many there are. I predict the week of February 9th through the 15th will be a exciting time for both of us when our combined girls lay that first egg. To me Aster is a orp just not the color he wanted, her egg will be a pale tan.

They might go under a different name in Deutsch.
There is some information in french website on the breed that also calls them Kraaikop (sorry if I made a spelling mistake).
Fyi: Our language is Dutch for English speakers. Deutsch is German. A complicated mix up. 🤨 But you spelled Kraaikop perfectly.

Kraaikop doesn’t resemble the chickens Silvester posted. http://www.kippenencyclopedie.nl/php/index.php?title=Kraaikop

I’m having a very hard time figuring out if my chook is a cockerel or a Pullet? :idunno
There’s no determining signs either way.

I had coffee with the chicks this morning and took some photos. Downloading them now and I'm hoping they turned out as good as I think they did with the silkies. The fuzz balls are hard to focus in on but I've noticed something in the last week I want to show you.
I didn’t know that coffee was okay for chooks?🤔

The silkies are finally coming out of the ugly phase and are starting to look like mini adults. This cross between Branch and Poppet is going to produce some beautiful little birds. Branch, he had a mighty fine beard but to be honest his topknot left a lot to be desired. Poppet, no beard but you cannot deny she is rocking the topknot. I can now tell all 6 have inherited their momma's fuller topknot. 3 of the 6 have their daddy's beard to go with it. I actually have 3 pairs color wise. There are 2 blacks, 2 Black with brown leaking through all over and 2 partridges. Each of the pairs have a bearded and non-bearded version.
I believe that the bearded Partridge will be miss Patsy.

@Sylvester017
In Iowa, there is a place called Breda. Maybe your chickens are related to that place?
In the Netherlands Breda are called Kraaikop and there is also a city called Breda in the Netherlands. Kraaikop is said to originally be a French fowl but perfected in Netherlands while USA history says it was a common breed in the USA prior to the USA Civil War (1860) and was known as Guilderland or Guelders chickens.

There used to be breeders in the USA but don't seem to offer them any more even though they show BREDA FOWL (Kraaikop) on their website?
https://theoldfarmhouse.weebly.com/store/p16/Breda_(Kraaikop)_Chicks_Straight_Run.html

This was the last breeder I bought Breda Fowl from ~ they were doing a project of cross-breeding to improve hardiness but not sure if still working on the Breda.

This is another website in Oregon USA that says it ships Breda hatching eggs:

Some websites describing Breda/Kraaikop

Canadian website:

Unfortunately we are not equipped in our ordinance zone to have the luxury of hatching our own chicks or coping w/cockerels or I would've loved having more Blue/Black/Splash variety Breda Fowl cuz they have been one of our most gorgeous & best temperament birds.
