Pony Sunday, a toad I found at my parent's house trying to get under the deck. I relocated him to a barrel he could burrow under.

Also, I cut open one of our 'sugar baby' watermelons and it was ORANGE inside! Very sweet and mild, maybe it isn't fully ripe? Still delicious and refreshing.

And finally, a feasting flock.

It's raining today, so we can't work on the coop.

The Autumn Equinox just happened about 30 minutes ago! Happy autumn to everyone in the northern hemisphere and happy spring to you southern hemispherers! 😆

I was going to wait another week before letting my girls free range but yesterday evening I decided, eh, what the heck? They were out for about an hour and put themselves back in the coop when it started getting dark! Well... For the most part. Gytha was stubborn and waited too long so I had to herd her LOL

So this morning I let them back out again and they're loving it!

They look right at home there ♥️😊

I need a dog :barnie
No you don’t! Just think of the expense of a dog (says the crazy horse lady with 3 useless hay burners).

Anyways you have chickens! If I had know how much fun the chickens were I would have got rid of the horses years ago!

Yes @Sylvester017 those are silkie babies - there’s a third one somewhere in that stall. Three silkies and one of my barnyard mutt chicks.

I gave the broodies 3 chicks of my friend (she raises silkies) and one of my eggs she hatched for me in her incubator. Those two co-brooded those babies really well.

I gave her the three babies back when they were weened (all pullets!), and my chick was a boy so he was re-homed.
