They're all dead. I'm sorry.

Omg! Oh no😳
Confirmed

Everyone, I have chatted with @SimpleJenn and can confirm that all of her chickens have died. She will not be back here for a bit as she deals with the loss. They are in the process of cleaning up by burning all of the bodies. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as she deals with this very difficult situation.

We believe it was avian flu as they went so fast. The first passed Sunday and by Friday they are all gone.

Now I have to tell Mrs BY Bob about Versace. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers as well. This is going to be very hard for her. Ot as hard as it is for Jenn of course.
Oh noooo! Oh no! How crushing.

I was just reading about AI not being east of Saskatchewan here in Canada - yet. Though they expect it soon enough.

But this it too close to home. That’s it. My gang is no longer going outside at all.

Gosh I am just gobsmacked 😢😢😢 I cannot believe it. It’s just so surreal.

Well I am sending hugs to you Mr and Mrs By Bob, and to Jenn and her family. Gosh I just don’t know what to say.

😢😢😢😢😢

Kelly, I’m devastated by what happened to Jenn’s birds. Mine are so happily dancing around the yard. If I could, I would change places with Jenn . Sadly I can’t. :(
I know I just read it! I am just gobsmacked I cannot believe it! I absolutely cannot believe it!

You hear of it taking a flock overnight but you just don’t understand really until it happens to you or someone you know.

My flock is now quarantined in the barn for the rest of the winter. They can stay inside.

And I will be dealing with Laverne tonight. She will go in the crate and sequestered someplace away from everyone.

Gosh I am just so shocked.

I was going to mention it but I felt it wouldn't be right to out of respect for Jenn's flock (the post was on that page).
I have a habit of jumping around on the site, sometimes I just ‘look’ at the photos, other times just pop in to say hi.

Sometimes I read the posts.

I am still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation. I was feeling fairly confident she had Coryza in her flock, nothing too serious.

I really wish I were closer to go and help her and just give her a huge hug.

😢😢😢😢

I think at the very least we'll take down the couple bird feeders we still have up. The bird bath, too. Tomorrow, as long as both my dad and I are physically well enough, we're moving the coop into position, and then we can add clutter back to the run. So if we need to keep them inside the run, there will be plenty for them to do.
I was going to fill my bird feeder tomorrow. I usually keep it full all winter. This winter the song birds are on their own. It makes me sad but I just can't afford the risk.🙁
