Henny Penny has twice now raised winter babies I have found that the babies are ok and in fact might even do better than summer babies.

Our winter chicks were the best too ~ "Violet" was one to go over 11 yrs. The only summer chick to survive to old age is our current "Dana"

Ok everyone, I didn’t know how many chooks I had so tonight I counted the all.

Let’s have a little contest on how many chickens do I have now…. A hint, it’s less then 100.

given the BYC rules for counting chickens, she doesn't have ANY/she has 0, nilch, nada chickens.

She was over 30 chickens before she caved this year and got the Buffs, OEGB, , etc, etc.....got to be at least in the 40s...but, again:
she has no chickens, zilch, nada, nilch according to BYC chicken math!

That's why went for 42 then upped to 43 for another guess. She was only a few birds more then my lot....then got all sorts of chick fever...and the incubator hatch...and I'm close on the guess work. It's fun. And @RoyalChick is right. We need a complete name list when the number's revealed.
