Why not. She did it to herself.I remember that. I shouldn’t laugh, but it was hilarious.
Hmmm, her velociraptor roots come out when offered a turkey carcass, huh?Bernie continues to struggle - I don’t know if it is molt or something more serious. But I have discovered that she transforms into a different hen when turkey scraps are offered.
To describe it as a favorite food is a significant under statement.
One minute she looks like she is not far from death. Then suddenly she is a raging carnivore tearing into her cousin’s carcass like a mad thing!
Well done, @Debbie292d Alex at a loss for words!I don’t know what to say![]()
Last winter we had a blizzard that came on suddenly and I knew we have chickens that come up by the house, so hubs and I donned our gear and walked the path to the coop. On the right side off in the snow something caught my eye...one of the darker silkies! We plucked four of them out of the snow. Why do they fly off the paths is anyone's guess. Silkies can hardly fly anyway so not sure how four of them made it that far off the path.Aurora got stranded once by flying into the deep snow. She couldn't make it all the way back to the coop. I had to rescue her and carry her back.

Most winters we're around two feet deep, sometimes three, rarely more than that but it's happened. That will be great when it’s done
How much snow do you normally get?
Red is like that, I feel all sad watching her stand around looking old. Then when I bring out food she becomes a raving crazed thing! The others steer clear of her hahaha. She loves her grub!Bernie continues to struggle - I don’t know if it is molt or something more serious. But I have discovered that she transforms into a different hen when turkey scraps are offered.

That’s more then enough!!!Most winters we're around two feet deep, sometimes three, rarely more than that but it's happened.
Here we on a rare occassion will get the "lake effect" snow. Lake Michigan is about 40 miles from here. That's when we'll get dumped on. We still get most from you I believe though. That’s more then enough!!!
