Sigh, fevers, body aches, hacking up a lung, ear aches, throats on fire and vertigo when dad stands up. I'd bet money they both have the flu as it is going around. It has hit dad a little harder then Rosie. Of course he never gets a flu shot the hard head, Rosie had hers back in November. I have been on their beck and call since they woke up today. I have already threatened them both to not breathe on me. I actually would wear a hazmat suit right now if I had one. Up until 5 years ago I would not be as paranoid about the flu as I always got the flu shot. I developed a allergy to it and can no longer take it these days. It is perfect timing, and setting up for a perfect storm. I had to insert my last dexcom g6 sensor night before last and of course it was a faulty one. I can only get 3 a month and if something goes wrong with one the pharmacy will not replace one you have to call dexcom themselves to get a replacement. I'm getting one....in 5 to 7 business days which means I am having to use the pump on manual mode and it is not going well at the moment. I love my pump, I will tell you right now it is not the best without working with the sensor. I have ping-ponged for the last 36 hours due to the type of insulin the pump uses. I am really going to be hurting if I come down with this and cannot constantly monitor my blood sugar levels through the pump so it adjusts insulin flow.

Woohoo! We need video!

She doesn't do it often...in fact, I don't think she realizes it herself. She's been a chow hound since she was a chick so if anyone was to catch midair, she was the one that did it! I wish I had use of my hands...I haven't taken pictures in 9 months & DH has been doing his best videoing while feeding the girls at the same time!

When she was still a chick I hid pomegranate seeds in a paper bowl covered w/ a paper napkin but she found it anyway.

We call her the "vacuum cleaner" or Miss Hoover the vacuum or Chow Hound. Looking for food is her main mission in life.

Jam vs curd : I was given a basket of Seville oranges (I think that's what you call them ? Bitter oranges ?) and made jam on monday. Then I had a bunch left, so I made curd : two jars and a pie.

Jam made from Seville oranges is called marmalade and is a classically English thing. My mother was addicted to making marmalade - she couldn't bear to see the oranges at the market and not grab them. My Dad loved marmalade, but there is a limit to how much you can eat in a year.
I am the proud inheritor of my mother's marmalade stash. I like marmalade in moderation. I started making a chocolate marmalade cake which uses up a lot and is very delicious.
I am now into the 1995 vintage and my mother died in 1999, so only a few years left to work through!
And yes, it is perfectly good after all these years!

Gosh that sucks! I would think in a situation where it’s health related they would be right on top of that wear a mask around the germ factories.

My boss and I told the new lady who works here to stay home past 3 days and work from home rather than spread her germs to us.

I am dreading getting ill - I am the only one around here now that my sister and BIL moved up north. So if I get sick I haul my butt to the barn and do chores anyways.
